We’re in an Exhibition!

beautifulagony.com is in an exhibition. Last year, we were invited to participate in the exhibit ‘Face Contact’ as part of the 2011 Photoespana Festival in Madrid. This exhibit has made it’s way to Beijing, where it will be on show until the 24th of June, 2012. The exhibition has many of my favourite artists also participating, so, if you are Beijing way please drop in as I am unable to go.

Inbetween stresses

Anger, I have lots of it. Most of which I am putting down to the following:

- Lack of sleep, last night I not only woke up at 4am like every other night for the past 3 weeks, but I also woke up at 2am and again at 6am. Fun times.
- Lots of things to get done, there are deadlines an I’ll get there, but fucking hell there are deadlines.
- Work and study, not a great combination when you’re trying to get out of the country for 5 weeks.
- Champix – yeah this ones to blame a lot, hello temporary mood disorder, like I didn’t already have enough of one to begin with.
- Not smoking – why did I think it was such a great idea to stop smoking now?
- Flu – Adam has had it, I am getting it, those chills in my back and that revolting taste in my mouth, it’s not welcome.
- Those stupid reminders from MyQuit, “congratulations it’s been a week, have things changed? Keep up the good work buddy!” Really, you’re just annoying and make me feel like a sheep.

Really this all just comes down to having a fair bit to do in very little time, whilst trying to quit an 18 yr long addiction while on drugs that although assist with the quitting part, have the lovely side effect of disrupting sleep patterns and making you feel a bit down, and nauseous. It’ll pass and I’ll eventually crawl out of my own arse and start feeling better about things.

So next up, things I must get done in the next week and a half (because some how by writing it down I may actually remember to get it all done):

- Update site until mid may, many edits still to complete.
- Encode, and update other site until mid may.
- Backups, drive and in-coming’s, up to date and to be continued whilst away.
- Social updates whilst away, automated twitter to FB.

Road Blocks

process block – conceptual block

I could really relate to last nights lecture. This is something that has been on my mind with intensity of late, and something that has really stopped me in my tracks for some time now.

Creative road blocks.

Everything we touched on last night was stuff I already knew. Really I could RPL this, I have done this class before in one way or another. But last night really hit home, it reminded me of my process, it reminded me of my needs and I needed that reminder. I need to touch base again. So I’m going to stick this one out because I think the lesson is valuable, and it’s even more valuable when it’s on repeat.

Crossing paths at explosive times. Look for the signs the lady said, look for the signs. Esoteric? A little. But really, aren’t we all if we open our fucking eyes?

Last night we spoke about idea formation, like a big bang, the right pieces collide and {{BAM}}, there you have it. The idea is born.

But anyway, it’s on my mind, and my evening threw sparks my way:

Things to say? Things to think? Things to do?

Just things.

Study is starting back this week, I think actually yesterday. I’m still waiting on confirmation from head to department as to what my timetable is this semester. So many RPL’s and bits of this course and bits of that and changes of times with classes. Who the fuck knows this stuff. And can I be bothered with it.

What I want at the moment is downtime, time to do house like things. Time to look at new blinds, research carpet. Walk the dog, cook yummy food. Play with my camera.

India is fast approaching, the rush to get ahead for the month I’m away has begun. I will get everything covered for when I’m gone. I will.

Self Maintenance

I used to write a lot. I don’t know why I stopped. Things got busier? But things are always busy, it’s a poor excuse. Truth, I just stopped one day, I stopped sharing. This takes me back to many years ago, as a teenage girl, sitting in the school counselors office. Imagine all of your emotions in this jar, you keep putting more of them into the jar, eventually it will overflow. If you put a lid on it, it will explode. Releasing is important for self maintenance.
